Playful and curious as a monkey, and containing 47 botanicals derived from the region of Schwarzwald (Germany’s Black Forest) Monkey 47 is the most unusual gin bottled at 47%, and available in attractively designed old apothecary-style bottle.
Coming from a unique distillery in the fairy tale forest featured in Grimm Brothers frightening stories of Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood, the spirit is rather joyful, fragrant, smooth, very satisfying, and cocktail-friendly (because high-quality base makes even the simplest cocktail a masterpiece!)
Monkey 47 is one-of-a kind dry gin that contains juniper, lavender, and lingonberries indigenous to the Black Forest among other ingredients paired with citrus aromas. It has been carefully developed, handcrafted, and batch-distilled under the dark canopy of age-old trees among the rolling meadows and bubbling creeks. Its founder Alexander Stein has put in the same care and thought into designing Monkey 47’s distillery as he has in creating a gin recipe that has won numerous awards and accolades from the experts around the world. The distillery in Schwarzwald is a destination in itself with the specially made copper stills and carefully designed bar. It is open to the public by appointment.
With a cult following in Europe and around the globe, Monkey 47 is gaining traction across America among retailers, bartenders and restaurateurs, and is now available at chic hotels, trendy bars, and innovative shops all over the country.
